Hi everyone!

It's February in the UK. The woodland outside our house is filled with snowdrops and celandine. We planted around 50 chestnut trees in January as another millennium gesture. So there is lots to look forward to this century! We are now preparing for our spring arts event based on the theme of angels, faeries and mythical creatures. This is something I am really looking forward to, as it is my main passion and hobby. More on that next month. The back copies of Newsletters will be available soon...

Thanks to everyone for your emails. They are all very interesting. Please keep sending them. I will try and take on board all your suggestions and ideas. I didn't realise there were so many of you out there. I particularly would like to thank you for your support and encouragement regarding my battle with Castle Records. It's feels so good to have such care and understanding - I feel even braver. The case comes to court in the summer so I am deeply involved in my case preparation.

However on a more upbeat note: I have just come back from a business trip to Paris to pick up my original masters in the French language. They were found by BMG Records France who were very gallant and helpful and arranged for them to be packaged and returned to me as soon as they discovered them locked away in the vaults. So Entente Cordiale is still very much alive between me and my French speaking fans. Look out for some French releases later this year, early next year.

I have always loved working in France and also enjoyed visiting and performing in French Canada. I feel totally at home there and I really love singing in the French language. I adore Piaf, Paris and the Provence, the wild West Coast, the Aveyron, and all the way down to the Spanish borders.

My first live tour in France was in the mid Sixties with the legendary Johnny Halliday who I most recently saw at the unhappy occasion of Mort Schuman's funeral a few years ago. Remember Mort? He wrote lots of great songs like "Save the Last Dance For Me " and a lot of the English lyrics for Jacques Brel. Johnny still looks gorgeous - I wonder what his secret is....

Wouldn't it be great to do some promotional work there again! What do you think? What would you do if you were in charge?

Ideas in your next email please.

Before I go some special thanks and hello to -

See you in Mad March.
